When was Jacob's Ladder established?
Jacob’s Ladder began conducting evaluation and programming for children in 1995. We began taking our first students in 1998, and we became a 501 (c)(3) non-profit in 1999.

What happens when my child no longer needs 1:1 intervention?
Most of our students are served through our intensive one-on-one approach. When student gains indicate readiness for small-group instruction, they may be transitioned into one of our Group School settings with ratios varying from 3:1 to 5:1.

What age ranges do you serve?
It's never too early, and it's never too late to benefit from neurodevelopmental intervention. We currently have students as young as 18 months and as old as 52 years. The reason we can serve such a wide range is because every student's program is customized to suit the individual.

How will my child's social needs be met in a 1:1 learning environment?
Our students are encouraged to socialize during gross motor activities, play time, lunchtime and music therapy. We structure small group interactions to ensure success. We also provide a variety of opportunities for social growth through guided group interactions, field trips, art exhibits, and other activities.

Do you provide lunch?
No. Students bring their own lunches as many of our children have special dietary restrictions.

What are your teachers' backgrounds?
All of our teachers have a BA in a related field, and many have a Master's degree in a related field. Some come from a Floortime background, some from an ABA background, some from Early Childhood Education, and many are certified teachers in their given academic area.

How do you document students' progress?
Student progress is continually evaluated, with ongoing modifications to each child's personalized plan as needed. Data is rigorously collected, and detailed progress reports are provided twice per year. In addition progress can be shown through a brain map. Students are reevaluated on a frequent basis to make adjustments in their protocols as brain development is constantly occurring.
