#

Jacob’s Ladder currently serves students at two campuses in the metro-Atlanta area. The main campus for Jacob’s Ladder is located in Roswell, GA, and in the Fall of 2015, a satellite campus was opened in the Buckhead area.

Founding Director Amy O’Dell purchased the 4-acre wooded property in 2009 and renovated the old farmhouse into the main campus of Jacob’s Ladder. During the years following, Jacob’s Ladder has grown from a single house, to a full-fledge campus consisting of three separate buildings and a variety of points of interest.

The Roswell Campus includes the following amenities:

Walking trail – A quarter-mile long shaded trail follows the perimeter of the Roswell campus and offers students a way to enjoy nature during their day. The trail includes 3 wooden bridges over shallow streams, 3 balance beams at varying heights and widths, a see-saw, and a hang bar.

Playground – Students have access to a full playground set, including a swing designed to meet the needs of our physical students.

Outdoor Classroom – Located at the highest point on the property, the outdoor classroom allows for additional learning space for our students. Built it 2014, the outdoor classroom boasts a wrap-around porch, screened-in meeting area, and beautiful views of the whole campus.

Student Garden – Comprised of a variety of flowers and vegetables, the student garden is housed on the sunny hill surrounding the outdoor classroom. On a rotating basis, students in our group learning environments learn to plant, foster, and reap the fruit of their work.

Animals – The Roswell campus houses an assortment of animals, including donkeys, goats, rabbits, chickens, a guinea pig, and several species of fish. With the aid of staff members trained in Animal Assisted Therapy, students enjoying interacting with the animals in a safe and therapeutic way.

Double Swing – The double swing is one of the first things seen when visiting the Roswell campus, as it is located by the front door. Student and teachers alike utilize this swing to enjoy the peace and calm of the outdoors.

Running Track – Research has shown that a school-day filled with plenty of exercise is beneficial for all students. Outside carpool hours, the loop around the side of the main building doubles as a running track where X number of times around the track is equal to a half-mile.

Basketball Court – Added in Fall 2015, the 26’ X 22’ basketball court features a full-sized basket and plenty of space for our students to practice their dribbling, passing, and shooting skills. Students in our older learning environments also work on team building in a fun and interactive way.

Treehouse – The most recent addition to the Roswell campus is the Treehouse for our older students. Students can enjoy lounging in one of the two ENO hammocks, climbing on the rock wall or the rope ladder.

Future expansions of the Roswell property will include 2 adjoining properties, creating a campus with a total of X-acres where our students will be able to learn and thrive.

Students on the Roswell campus can also partake in a variety of additional therapeutic services during their day. Click on the service for more information and how it is integrated into the Jacob’s Ladder model.
